During the holiday season, Canada Post delivers mail in record numbers. In fact, in May, 2.1 million parcels were delivered in one day, three times the normal number for this time of year. This is one of the reasons why Canada Post has made it a point to recruit full-time and temporary staff members to handle a staggering number of parcels.
Aside from providing mail service, Canada Post also operates as a courier service and offers services in New Zealand, South and Central America, Asia, and Australia. As of 2018, it delivers packages to 192 countries.
In the last couple of years, Canada Post has added pick-up locations to bolster its delivery capabilities. As such, you may have seen your mail delivered on the weekend. However, not all postal services offer this service.
For example, some private post offices in Canada will not deliver your post on the weekend. You will need to visit a local post office on the weekend to ensure your mail gets to its destination. In fact, you may even be able to receive mail on the weekend from some private post offices.
There are also other methods of getting mail delivered on the weekend. You can use a courier service such as Purolator or UPS to deliver your mail on the weekend. However, these services may not be the best choice for delivering time sensitive packages.
Although Canada Post may not have the best delivery service, it can still make the delivery on a weekend. If you are looking to get your mail delivered on a weekend, the best option is to drop your mail off on the Friday before the weekend.
